I had the opportunity to totally nerd out on my best friend's bachelorette party with a Harry Potter theme, and it couldn't have turned out any better. For some reason I went head first into this as a designer and kept coming out with idea after idea. I had so much fun designing all of it. We've already decided to use all the props for Halloween and once again I'll get to nerd out on Harry Potter this year. I believe a trip to Universal Studio is in order.
My favorite part was designing the labels. I had a conversation with my best friend that in my last life I believe I was an apothecary labeler, because I really felt at home designing all of them. I used a couple techniques to create these labels. First I crinkled the labels then rubbed a little bit of coffee grounds all over them, that made them smell divine. I also took a burnt toothpick and rubbed the edges of the paper. There are plenty of ways to age them and all methods are equally fun.
